About

The LLR will serve the campus community, students and faculty, in the following ways:

Publishing and promoting students’ literary and academic work–specifically non-fiction, short fiction, and poetry–and their artwork–to the college community and the general public. Faculty will select excellent student scholarly essays and term papers, original poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction, fine art, graphic art, and photography. Students not enrolled in art courses, composition or creative writing courses but who would still like to have their work considered for inclusion are encouraged to contact the LLR editors. Editors make the final decisions for all submissions.

The Lincoln Land Review draws upon the college’s long tradition of publishing academic and literary student work and displaying student art. For 37 years, The Harvester featured exemplary essays written by LLCC composition students. From 1999- to 2006, The Ruptured Seed published poetry and short stories written by students at LLCC. Each year, the Art Department holds a well-attended student art show that features the finest artwork produced by students for that academic year. The Lincoln Land Review celebrates these past publications and events, and holds an annual live reading of published work each fall. It is our wish to continue to publish the best of our students’ writing and artwork in a manner that will continue to showcase the creative and academic excellence of students at Lincoln Land Community College. With each publication, the editors hold a concurrent art and writing contest and award prizes for the best essay, poem, short fiction, fine art, and graphic art.

The LLR editors want to establish and maintain new traditions as well. We hope you will continue to check our web site, as we will feature interviews, readings, and selected student work on-line, and advertise events, such as our live reading and literary and art events.
